Wedding Day Guide

1 hour and 1/2 getting ready portraits

25 minutes bride and groom portraits

25 minutes bridal party portraits

15 minutes family immediately following the ceremony

3 hours at the reception unless special exit

TIMELINE

scheduling

Please make sure hair/makeup is completed for the bridal party, bride and mother of the bride by the time I arrive. I will photograph the touchups for makeup on the bride. After that, we will photograph you/anyone present journalistically (hanging out) and then you getting into your dress. This ensures that we will not fall behind with our timeline. Let's avoid all stress by being properly planned ;)

prep

Please make sure you have these things at your prep location: Bouquet, Jewelry, Garter, Invitation, Veil, Shoes, Rings (All 3) in a special spot for me. Provide any hanger for your dress other than a plastic one.

Make sure the groom & groomsmen are getting ready in the same hotel or within 10 minutes of the bride’s getting ready location so they can be photographed. The groom needs to prep himself by putting on his shirt & pants. He will be photographed getting into his tie, jacket (etc.)

Also, remember this entire day- you are on camera. Embrace the day with smiling with a warm heart. While you are getting into your dress or during your ceremony, be present, be joyful and embrace your incredible celebration!

portraits

For beautifully lit portraits, we will check the times and make sure they happen during the sunlight hours.

CREATIVE Tip:

Have your florist bring extra stems/ribbons so I can use them for creative styling with your invitations (etc.) to your prep location if you'd like.

If you are getting married inside. Please ask the lighting engineers to put soft neutral lights on the stage. Make sure that there are soft neutral lights on the bridal party too if they are up there with you so the light can be even.

ceremony

having a videographer?

Great! I work very well with videographers. Please ask the videographer to stay at least 15 feet away from you during the ceremony.

unplugged ceremony

Consider having a ceremony that is unplugged. An unplugged ceremony is a previous request to your guests to not use their iPhones or cameras during the ceremony. It’s difficult for guests to be present in the moment with the bride & groom when they are so focused on taking photos during the wedding. Instead of having attentive guests, you will see up to 150 phones. Often times, guests will put their iPhones in the aisle way or raise them over their heads. This in turn, affects your photos. Together, we will work to achieve the most stunning, emotional images for you.

Please let all of the family members you desire in the photos know in advance to meet us at the altar following the ceremony.
